The Hidden Valley Most People Miss
Everyone knows Jibhi now. Ten years ago, it was a dot on the map that barely anyone visited. Today, it’s crowded with cafés, homestays, and selfie points. But just one valley away lies Gadagusain (locals call it “Vada Visheni”) — a place where time still moves differently. Where the roads are quiet, the forests stretch endlessly, and life is still lived the old way.
When I first came here in 2021 to build Fika Homes, people laughed: “Why here? No one will come.” And that was exactly the point.

What Makes Gadagusain Special
This isn’t a tourist town. You won’t find fancy markets or hundreds of hotels here. What you will find:
Silence you can actually hear. Nights lit only by stars, mornings filled with bird calls.
A village still untouched. Wooden Himachali houses, locals farming their land, kids running wild.
Nature all around. Trails that lead to hidden meadows, rivers perfect for long walks, forests where you’ll meet no one but yourself.
A slower pace. Here, Wi-Fi might drop but conversations deepen. You’ll remember what it feels like to just be.
It’s not for everyone. But for those who come, it stays with them forever.
Life at Fika Homes
When we built Fika Homes in Gadagusain, we didn’t want to create just another stay. We wanted to build a place that feels like pressing pause on life.
A day here goes something like this:
Wake up to mist rolling over the valley.
Sip your morning coffee watching clouds chase each other.
Work a little, read a little, walk through the village.
In the evening, gather around the café table, cook together, share stories with strangers who don’t feel like strangers anymore.
Guests often come thinking they’ll stay for two nights. Many end up extending for weeks. Some even return year after year, calling Gadagusain their second home.

Why Choose Gadagusain Over Jibhi?
If you love crowds, cafés, and buzz - Jibhi is perfect. But if you’re looking for something else , space, silence, slowness, then Gadagusain is the answer.
Here, you don’t just “visit.” You live. Even if it’s just for a weekend.
How to Reach Gadagusain
From Delhi/Chandigarh, take a bus or drive to Banjar.
From Banjar, Gadagusain is about 45 minutes uphill by local taxi or your own car.
The roads are narrow, but that’s why the valley has stayed hidden.
A Valley That Changes People
Over the years, I’ve seen something magical happen here.Guests arrive exhausted from city life. Within a day, their faces soften. They sleep better. They eat slower. They talk deeper. By the time they leave, they’re not the same.
Some have even gone on to start their own stays and communities after experiencing Gadagusain. That’s the ripple effect of this valley.
Not for Tourists
Gadagusain is not for everyone. It’s not made for mass tourism. But for the few who come, it feels like finding a secret you want to hold close.
And if you’re wondering where to stay - Fika Homes will welcome you, not as a guest, but as part of the family.
👉 If Jibhi feels too crowded, maybe it’s time you discover its quieter neighbor. Welcome to Gadagusain — Himachal’s best-kept secret.
